Project Journal: Fifth Grade Volume 3
Monday May 5
We had lots of fun. We had a humoungus party after the mass. We had lots of different guests. We had lots of fod. We had lots of fun. Incomplete.
Tuesday May 6
This week is very active. Sunday was my sisters first communion. Monday was my mom’s anniversery. Tueasday is getting out early, Wednesday is a plain day. Thursday is the Spring Bazzar and Friday is a P.A. day. I will be very tired on Saturday. Why did you misspell Tuesday?
Wednesday May 7
I am very confused. I didn’t spell Tuesday wrong and May the fifth’s journal is not incomplete. The other part is in my other journal. Oh well. I had a lot of fun with Mason last night. It was very fun. You did spell Tuesday wrong? Oh well, why didn’t you hand in the other journal.
Thursday May 8
Today is the annual Sping Garden Bazzar. I brought five dollars. I am on the charts twice. 1 for the Lucky Draw and 1 for the White Elephat table. (Number two) I can’t wait untill the bazaar starts. It was a Spring Bazaar
Monday May 11
On Friday I had a boll. My dad who works at the lab picked me up in the car and took me to the lab. (It wasn’t the first time though) We had lots of educational fun! You had a ball
Tuesday May 12
Today something quite unuasul happened. Sammy and some other people were playing two sqares. It was Sam’s ball. The object of the game was to get a person out of the square he ore she is in. We started playing. Got Sam out and he just ran off with the ball. That amazed us all. He was the one the asked us to play. We played and (POOF). He dosen’t want to play. Oh well. But last night, Mason, Spike and I had a water gun fight. Boy was it fun. Water flying around and water in my face that was cool and crisp. We are having other one tonight. I can not wait at all. It was unusual.
Wednesday May 14
Today I have a assignment for Madame Bell. It was for what I did to Smallo out side at lunch time. I am very embarrasd of that conduct. I am sorry. To Smallo, to Sister, and to Blocko. Well maybe Blocko. Because he did it too. It was an assignment Frank. (correcting my penmanship)
Thursday May 15
Today Gene, Sammy, Mason, Blocko, Spike, and I are going to do something for the assembly this month. A play, About Fat Albert and the Cosby kids. Each boy is a member of the Cosby kids. This play also teaches a lesson. I can’t wait. From whom did you get permission?
Friday May 16
I think the paper-route I just got is great. But Mason wanted to be my substitute. But then I found out that Mason went for cadets. So I checked his and my schedule. He couldn’t help. Insted I got an enimie. he used to be an enimie. But now he’s my best friend. I thought that would. So now I have no enimies. The word is enemy
Tuesday May 20
Today we had an indoor recess. I don’t like indoor recess. I like outdoor recess better. Much better. Because indoor recesses you play games. Dumb games. Boring games. But it is better than nothing at all. Neither do I.
Wednesday May 21
When I wrote Tuesday journal I never knew what would happen that same time. Tradgedy strikes! I just got a new paper route. I just got a new paper route. Exept I don’t know it too well yet. I was short 11 papers. More bad luck. I start the route Tuesday 4:00. It took me ‘till seven o’clock to get everything straightened out. I was tired!
Thursday May 22
Today I know that: we have no gym unless outdoors and that the swim and summer is on Sunday not Friday. And next month and next week we have a load of trips. I simpley can’t wait ‘till that. We have trips to: The Science Circus, Mount St. Joesheph, Sister’s conveant and much more. I will love it! Mount St. Joseph. That’s good.
Friday May 23
Today it is raining! Oh Well. Because it means indoor recess. (Journal May 20). But I still like the rain. I don’t know why but I sure do I sure do. But like it even more when it is not raining! Finger Spaces
Monday May 26
Yesterday I had fun. So did all the other altar-boys. Father took the altar-boys swimming. After we swam we ate! Great. I ate a lot. I swam a lot I had a lot of fun on Sunday. I hope you thanked Father.
Tuesday May 26
Today we played four squares with a grade 8! We won! Gene and I always got him out. The highest he got was square 2. But only once. Ha Ha. I can’t wait ‘till lunch when we play again! Congratulations.
Wednesday May 28
Today Joan Marie challenged me to a four square game! (Journal Tuesday May 26) I will win by a mile. She says she can beat me. She bet five-dollars. I accepted the game but not the bet. I can’t wait. We will play with a tennis ball. That’s good.
Thursday May 29
I think something is wrong! Today is the assembly! I thought it was at the end of the month usually! Oh well it doesn’t matter. Yesterday was fun. Thank-you very much Sister for taking us there yesterday! I just loved it. So did everyone else! You’re welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Friday May 30
Mrs. Pataratia is here today. I wonder why. I remember her a lot. She taught us how to sing the songs we know right now! She is nice. I wish I could spell her name right though! I just had a nose bleed. But Mrs. Mahar and Sister helped it stop. She was at a meeting upstairs.
Monday June 2
Today is a day where I talk about the week-end. On the weekend I found out why I had such a red face. Alergies. I remembered last year I had the same thing. I went to Mcmaster to a alergie specialist. He was nice. He gave me a special kind of cream which I rub on my face. It is going away the alergie is. The doctor also prescribed a hat and sunglasses. Because my alergies are the heat and mosquitoues. Once I had it on my face, and back. My back was so itchy. I couldn’t stand it. It was horrible! Even when I took a bath it itched. I am not so happy now as before. Because it might come back on my face. Oh well. And I went to the Science Circus yesterday it was fun. But when I went I discovered everything was donated by the Ontario Science Centre. I was there too. I loved bothe. At the Science Circus I bought a ball that when you throw it up out comes a parachute! I loved it. I can’t wait ‘till I go there again with the class and my friends/Thank you. You’re welcome.
Tuesday June 2
Today I am happy. Happy because there is no track-in-field. That means my friends will be here so I can play with them this afternoon. I can’t wait. I had a lot of homework last night. I had two assignments one for religion and one to explain what happened out side recently. And math and enviromental studies. Whewff! !!!
Wednesday June 4
Today there is a track-and-field meet. Too bad. Because now there are only a few boys and few girls. A lot of my friends are away such as: Gene, Relish, Blocko, Sammy and Mable. Next year I will try for track so I will not be alone all the time. Yes that’s what I will do. I will go out for all the sports. Besides I need the exercise. Good for you.
Thursday June 5
Today Spike showed me something. I t was alls his commandtrons! I like them alot. He said I could use one. And yesterday Gene came in second at track-and-field. Now he goes to the championship track-and-field meet. I bet he likes that. I sure would. A lot. 2 words.
Friday June 6th
Today we go to the Science Circus. I’ve already ben there. But I still want to go. I loved it. I will love it again. If we have parteners Sammy said he will be mine. He went already too. We don’t care. I just can’t wait. I thought it was in the morning but it wasn’t. Well I brought my money earlier. Oh well. Oh well.
Tuesday June 10th
Yesterday I served a funeral. It was a sad thing. I was luck enough to be selected cross. Not too long ago someone complimented me about how well I served Mass. I was and am proud. Very soon the altar boy picnic is on. It is on a schoolday. I can’t wait. Good for you.
Wednesday June 11th
Today is a rainy day. I don’t like rainy days very much at all. Exept for the sound of rain falling on the rooftops. I just love that sound. But I hate rainy days because, I can’t go outside and play that much. But on the bright side a rainy day doesn’t last forever! Neither do I.
Thursday June 12
Today I finished my free act. I like it a lot. Last night I went to a football game. it was a great game! But Joan Marie made a six armed creature and called it me! Oh well. But at the game, Tiger cats won! I just love football with Sammy. Capital letter for it.
Friday June 13
Today everyone is superstitious today. Just because today is Friday the 13th. I don`t believe anything in that category at all. Do you. It is all a bunch of just nothing. All of it is fake. I wonder who started such silly tales! Oh well. I will never know. Ha Ha Ha! It certainly is.
Wednesday June 18
Yesterday was a very enjoyable day! We went to the Sister’s of Saint Joesheph Mother House. We learned how to meditate. I liked that the best. We also went outside to write 3 things we smell, feel, and hear, and also see! That was a lot of fun also! Thank-you very much Sister. I hope you do.
Thursday June 18th
Today Gene Slugman came back to school. He missed the trip yesterday. He says he dosn’t mind. I would! Because it was a lot of fun! Thanks a lot again Sister! I sure loved it. It was just great. My favorite part was meditation. It was a super trip!!! You’re welcome
Monday June 22nd
Today is awards day. It sounds like fun. My parents are having awards. So are Sammy’s parents. Because our parents helped during the year. I wonder if I will get any awards! I sure hope so! Tommorow is the altar-boy picnic. But their is noone to do my papers. I may not be able to go. Because Mason my substitute is going to Nova Scotia. I do not know what I am going to do now! I am really worried! I like the altar boy picnic so much. I want to go again. It’s on every year. I was a server for two years. This will be my second. If I get to go. Blocko is a server but not going. He offered to do them. So did Smallo. That was nice of them. I will pay the one who does it ten bucks! I am not worried now.
Wednesday June 25
Yesterday was the Altar-boy picnic. It was great fun. We had fishing, eating, and all kinds of fun games! It was just great. I can’t wait ‘till next year when it is on again. Because I love the games and food. Except Father Ron won’t be thier! Dear Frank: I hope that you have a very happy and safe summer. Good luck next year. Sister.
