Wednesday Januarary 7

Today we have art.  One of my favourite subjects.   But another of my favourite subjects is G.I. JOE.  I love G.I. JOE.  I have 25 men and 8 vehicles.  Some of my men are worth 14 dollars!  G.I. Joe isn't a subject is he?

Wednesday January 8

Today we do our presentation for different religons.  My group has the Confusios.  It is pretty interesting.  Master K'ung Fu'Tzu started this Chinese religon.  I am glad I got this religon.  I'm glad you enjoyed doing your research.

Monday january 12

Today is going to be one of those days!  I just got a paper cut, I was almost late for school, Spike is gone for good and I forgot my boots.  What next?  I suppose it could be worse!  It sure could!

Thursday January 15

Tommorow is electives.  I can't wait to get started!  I got flight.  I picked it of course.  It sounds interesting.  We will have lessons on history past and present of planes and other means of flight.  Wright Brothers here I come.  Up, up and away - right Frank?

Monday January 19

I just got this super sled with everything on it!  It has a metal brake, , steering apparatus, and even a headlight that pops up like on a car!  I love it.  Sounds great!

Thursday January 22

I will never get a chance to ride my new sled!  Everything is happening.  Story contest, Science fair, project of Drake homeworkmania.  I can't wait.  but  I will appreciate it even better if I have to wait.  Right!  Why don't you take a break every once in awhile and ride your sled?

Monday January 26 1987

Today is the end of the season volley ball party.  We have bought a box of chocolates for Mrs. Clanfield but we forgot about our assainant coach Donna.  Donna taught us the fine points of volley-ball.  Well I can't wait until the party.  Last night I sent in a request to the radio show Dr. Demento.  It plays all novelty songs.  If I am on which should be next Sunday if they think my voice is crazy enough I will get  a free Dr. D tee shirt!  I am so excited.  Good luck!  Let me know how you do!

Tuesday January 27^th, 1987

Last night I went sledding and tonight I am going sledding too. I love my new sled it is so fast. Oh, it is just great. I can’t wail ‘till I go tonight. Today we are having a M.S. Read-a-thon assembly. I go to this thing so many times I have practically memorized the speech. Oh well, it is better than work. I can’t wait until I play my first chess game. I am getting pretty experienced. I never won last year because the first person I had to play with was Spike Victorious. He always beat me. But now that he moved (too bad) I will play more than one game. I can’t wait. Last night was the end-of-the-season volley ball party. It was great. First we played basket-ball which I am not very good at then we played floor hockey. My team won! I loved it. Then we adjourned to the staff room where we sat and waited for the pizza. When it came cheers arose! Wow! It was good. I will probably join the team next year too. I really liked the sport. Blocko and I had better get cracking. The science fair is due too soon. I was sure it was due the twenty fifth not the fifth. Oh well e can do it. I know you can! (By the way, I enjoy reading your journal!)

Wednesday January 28

Today is the fire presentation. They are boring in a way. Because my father is a firefighter and he taught me all the things we learn at the presentation. But I like going. It is better than work. Are you going to follow in your father’s footsteps?

Monday Febrauary 2, 1987

Today is Groundhog’s Day! Today there is no sun which equals Spring! Of course I don’t really believe that malarky but I enjoy listening to it! Willy the famous groundhog didn’t come out at all today! I wonder why. Some people say he is being held hostage by a mole! What would the ransom be?

Tuesday February 3

Our science fair project is coming along fine! But it better come faster because it has to be handed in tomorrow. I think Blocko and I have a chance of winning. Our title is Radar and Sonar, the Connection. It is really interesting. On the previous journal segment the reason would be a pair of dark glasses since moles are blind! Right! Good luck on your project.

Wednesday February 4, 1987

February this year is a full month! There is an assembly, a science fair, Valentines day and a P.A. Day not to mention other little going ons. One thing though next Friday is Friday the thirteenth a silly superstition I always say! So do I!

Today is the Science Fair as everybody knows. I don’t know if I will win. But who does, maybe the judges but who else? I sure hope we win! Good luck!

Friday February 6 1987

Yesterday and the day before that I did the one thing I truly master…somersaults! They are great fun! One day we were talking in religon and I told ??? I have been “called”! I hope you really have been!

Monday February 9, 1987

Sammy forgot his shoes and he has funny socks. But talking in that area I have a bad pain in my leg and today we have that silly dance! What luck. Oh well. I don’t know what I am going to do. Maybe exercise will excorise the pain!

Wednesday February 19, 1987

Everybody wants to get a fake leg cast. (Well the boys do anyway.) We want to get them before the next gym period for some obvious reasons. And I know where to get some. But I think we were joking. You’ll have to do more than that to get out of gym. I would want a doctor’s note!

Thursday February 12 1987

Today we have to do some more silly dances. If anyone else saw me do this I would simply die on the spot. Us boys are going to get out of this. But some of us are not going to try. But most will. You won’t succeed!

Friday February 13, 1987

Blocko, Gene and Sammy look fools! He He He! They have to where a heart unless they wear red. They look so funny. What more can I say? Why? I would rather where the heart. I don’t think “fools” is very complimentary, do you?

Monday February 16

Today I don’t feel that good. It seems like everything is going wrong. I just can’t stand it. I just wish the March Break started today. I don’t think I can wait that long! Cheer up, Frank! The weekend is only four days away and next week there’s a P.A. Day!

Tuesday February 17 1987

The paper airplane contest is coming up. It is in April. First you have to get a license. Then a form. It sounds great. I’m joining of course. But something else I’m joining is the olmpic torch relay. I signed a application form already! I just have to wait! I hope you make it. That would be an exciting chance of a lifetime!

Wednesday February 18 1987

I don’t understand it. Yesterday Spaniel stole my glove off my hand and took it home. What is she doing with it? She better not burn it because it’s my only pair of gloves. Sure, I have mittens! But I like my gloves. I’m sure she’ll give it back. I don’t seriously think she’ll burn it, do you?

Friday February 20 1987

Today is hot-dog day. I can’t wait. I got two hot dogs and one orange. Also today we have electives. I like the one I’m in is very enjoyable. But what’s really interesting is the newspaper that I joined. Sammy and I do the classroom news for grade six. I’m so excited. I just can’t hide it. Ha Ha. I love to see that kind of enthusiasm. Keep it up!

Monday February 23 1987

For the airplane contest my father and I have the perfect name for the manufacturing company. It is called ‘Father and Son Flying Machine and Barnstorming company! We even have a logo. One thing is missing though…the plane. Well, first things first, I guess.

Thursday, February 26 1987

For half of Monday and all of Tuesday and a little of Wednesday I was sick. It wasn’t much fun espescially on Wednesday! My whole family went to the ROM. Since the ROM is in Toronto and I can’t stay home alone I had to go! It was horrible. It sounded like a elephant in a liabrary!

This time we have the math test in the morning. We have it in the morning because in the afternoon we have a movie!

Monday March 2 1987

Tommorow our public speaking speechs are due. Blocko and I didn’t even know until not too long ago! We had better get cracking and fast! But I already have a subject. I know a lot about it! Good-I can’t wait to hear it!

I forgot to time my speech now. Mrs. Belasario said it is too short now. I have to do all over again. I just wish I had an early warning! You did!

What days do we have music? I always get mixed up and I enjoy music very much! It is quite interesting and enjoyable! Do we have it today? We have music on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Monday March 9 1987

Tomorrow is my birthday! I will be twelve years old! Already I am receiving gifts. All I’m asking for is money so I can buy hockey equipment! Happy Birthday (tomorrow)!!!

Tuesday March 10 1987

I am so excited, today is my birthday and just by a coinencidence I was born on a Tuesday. I m twelve hoping to reach thirteen because when my ‘friends’ give me the bumps I’ll die. [The following clipping was pasted here]

I am really excited about the speechs. I have brought a fire helmet too. It’s just the perfect touch. I can’t wait until recital. I can’t wait to see you in the helmet.

Yesterday the speechs went well. I think I did pretty good. But I guess everything could be improved. And I have a whole week to do it in. I will have fun this week. But I will have to work too. I hope you have a very good holiday.

March 23 1987

Over the weekend I stayed over at my uncle and aunts house. We made a pizza and watched movies and played the Genus Edition of trivial pursuit. It was fun! I‘m glad you had a good weekend-was your vacation fun too?

Wednesday March 15

My grandparents went to Venuzeueala (where Caramel came from!) and brought back a lot of stuff. I got a lot of things but I also got 17 bolivars. 10 of them in bill form the rest in coins. It is really interesting. Are you starting a collection of foreign currency?

Thursday March 26

Today I want to finish my art I thinks it is really fun. My scene is the Battle of the Network Superstars. It is funny. I can’t wait ‘till it is finished. I can’t wait to see it.

Friday March 27 1987

I like our music class. I also like our teacher. This class is very interesting especially Happy’s song, Kids in Action. I just came back. It was extra fun. I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying it.

Today I had to search for my boots because they were put away and you know why, I hate snow! It’s cold, wet and hard to walk through. But what bothers me is what if the music teacher is not here! I’m sure she will be. She hasn’t phoned to say she won’t be coming.

When the Simpson’s go away for a year they are renting out their house! Somebody from McMaster is still considering if she says no we get! I can’t wait for the results. What will you do with your house?

Today we have electives! Somebody said today was the end of the electives! I hope not. I really like Flight as an elective! I think today will be the last of this session. We’re going to have another group of electives to choose from very soon.

Monday April 6^th 1987

I read this neat novel called “Then again maybe I won’t”. I really enjoyed it. I finished it quite fast too only a couple hours! I love to read. What was the novel about?

Tuesday April 7^th 1987

The story was about a kid from Jersey City he wasn’t exactly rich but he had everything he wanted. His father invented something and became rich. They moved to Rosemont Long Island. He hated it. Everyone was a snob! And then what happened?

Wednesday April 8 1987

Today we have art! Yahoo! I love art. Really I do! I wonder what we are going to do today. I finished the other assignment! I can’t wait. You’ll have to.

Monday April 13^th 1987

Sam and I went to the movies! We saw Police Academy 4. It was funny. Later on we walked around, we left at 12:45 we returned at 3:30. When did you see it?

Wednesday April 15^th

I don’t feel very good, but I have a supply of bubblegum to chew on outside so I won’t cough! And I do have a long week-end coming up! I didn’t know bubblegum was a remedy.

Tuesday April 21^st

I had a pretty good time when Sammy came over! We went to a miniture golf course and I won! 63 to 64! By one stroke I won! Then he came over. We had quite a time! Good!

Wednesday April 22

Today are the try-outs for track and field! I will try out but I want to know if you can just pick an event like sprinting. Because I’m better at that then the races! I really don’t know, but it c an’t hurt to ask Mr. Bernacki.

Thursday April 23

In August we are going to Walt Disney Land. I think it’s “Land”. Anyway it’s the one in Florida. I can’t wait to go. It’s for a week and we are flying. I have never been on a plane before!

Monday May 4

Yesterday I watched Mary Poppins for fun. I saw it before. But I noticed something I didn’t notice before. The song I Love to Laugh was part of the soundtrack! The song dedicated to Block, Gene and I. I knew it was from either Mary Poppins or The Sound of Music! I was surprised. Did you sing along to it?

Too bad Mrs. Maxwell had to go. I wonder what we are going to do for music now? Maybe we will get someone else! I wonder.

Monday May 11

Nothing really happened on the week-end except me going to my uncle’s for a visit. We flew his kit while his dog chewed on some wooden boomerang. We got the kite high but it took awhile to reel it in again! Afterwards we ate most of my family was there. It was fun.

On Mothers day I served my mother bacon and eggs with my poem and coffee. Incidentally I wouldn’t have touched the bacon or the eggs!

She said she liked it but I don’t know. But it didn’t matter! I got a new video game cartridge. It’s fun. It’s called SwordQuest. I like it a lot. But I still can’t find the warrior’s sword which is needed in number two: Fireworld. I can’t wait. I really enjoy reading about your “adventures”, Frank!

Tuesday May 12

This year I’m going on another fishing trip with the guys from Rotseart Lab. My grandfather works there. We went to lake Erie about 2 miles out. A tradition is two put money in a bowl and the money is spit with the fishermen who get the first and largest fish. I won for the largest! It was hard getting him in! I took him home where my grandpa filleted him! Yum yum! When do you go on this yearly fishing trip?

Wednesday May 13

Blocko and his puppets are a scream when used right. If you just fight they’re boring. If not you laugh a lot figuring out new kinds of jokes. Blocko’s favorite is the Hat Shop which I made up last Halloween when I was at one of Blocko’s relative’s showing off our Laurel and hardy costumes. I really liked those costumes. We go on our trip in August usually.

Thursday May 14

Those questions we did were strange. I’m still having trouble with “What’s green and pecks on trees?” Gene says a woodpecker but I doubt it. Woodpeckers aren’t green! I wonder what it could be! What is green? (Hint: something that crunches)

Friday May 15

Yahoo! Tomorrow our inground pool is open! My Uncle Charlie is coming over to teach us how. I bought new jams an haiwian shirts to celebrate. Tommorow is party time! Hurray!

Tuesday May 19

On Monday I went to my uncle’s house which I wasn’t looking forward too. But when I got there we had a ball. We hada whole display for us then a bonfire with hot-dogs and marshmellos-It was fun. I met up with my Uncle Harry and a man named Larry. He was kind of short and smoked a cigar. I also met my Uncle Charlie. He helped us open the pool. Oh yeah that was fun! Is your uncle Hary the one that lives in West Hamilton and owns “patio furniture” store?

Wednesday May 20 1987

My uncle Harry is the one who lives in West Hamilton (he lives a block from me!) and owns the patio furniture store! We bought a lounge from him a couple of years ago! He’s sort of an “uncle-in-law” of mine. We call him Uncle Harry too! Small world isn’t it?

Thursday May 21

We (we are Gene, Blocko, and Sammy) are going to Harvey’s or Kentucky Fried Chicken. We are not sure. I’m not sure about Blocko though! He forgot his note! It will probably only be Gene, Sammy and I! Have a nice lunch!

Friday May 22

I’m playing Sam in chess. I wish I had played to way I‘m playing now in the tournament! I beat him once and now we’re on a rematch. I’m doing pretty good! Keep it up and maybe next year…

Monday May 25

Blocko once again is coming over. We are going to watch a movie. He’s coming on the bus. It’s easier. He has special permission. He will stay over for dinner. It will be fun. How is he going to get home?

Tuesday May 26

Yesterday Blocko came over. We had a pretty good time we watched a movie. It was funny. We also played video games and went to the store. On the bus Blocko had to sit way over in the back. Oh well. I’m glad you two are such good friends.

Wednesday May 27

Last night Edmonton lost 4-3. The means the Flyers get to keep going but all Edmonton has to do is win one more game and then they’ll have the Stanley Cup. I really hope Edmonton wins. Good luck to them.

Thursday May 28

Today is track and field. I wonder what’s going on right now. I hope we win something. Gene will probably put in a good showing for Christ the King. I wish them all a lot of luck!

Monday June 1

Ow! My back! It kills! It’s sun burnt! Oh! But since the Oilers won the Stanely cup again I don’t really care as much about my back! What a score 3-1. Anderson, Messeare, and Kurnie were the ones who scored for the Oilers. Who cares and knows who scored for the Flyers? What a victory. I heard that Philadelphia played a good game too, so both teams are to be congratulated on their efforts.

Tuesday June 2^nd

Tommorow is my sister Bridget’s birthday party! I can’t wait even though it isn’t my party! It will be fun, because Sammy is coming over and we can swim! My specialty is the dive I call Frank’s round the world. Sam’s is the hyper jump. That reminds me. I have to get a gift! What will you get your sister?

Thursday June 4^th

I got my sister a set of jewellery. It has three bracelets, one necklace and earings. She liked it a lot. Sammy came over to help me supervise. We had a lot of fun! Good!

Friday June 5

Tonight is going to be the third time Sammy has come over to swim! We like to swim. Last night I asked my grandpa what galaxy our sun belongs to. He went to a caboard and in it he had the Time Life series about nature. He lent me a book called The Universe. It’s great! I have it with me now! Terrific!

Tuesday June 9

Not much happened over the weekend. I had a guest though. It was Dan. We had fun. Soon school is out and summer school begins. It will be great to see Matt Bauer and George Lamparski again. I usually do the comics for the paper. Mat Bauer is in charge of the paper. Mr. Lamparski does the computer class. I went to Stoney Creek to see a reproduction of the war of 1812. It was excellent. It looked reall. It was at the Battlefield house. I couldn’t see that this weekend. I’m sorry I missed it. By the way, Mr. Lamparski is a friend of mine. He’s a “good guy”.

Wednesday June 10

Sammy fainted again. The first time was in church. He was serving a wedding and I guess it got pretty hot because he fainted. Yesterday on his bike he fainted too! All he remembers is doing some swirls and calling for help! (faintly). Oops a little joke!

Monday June 15

I found over four dollars on the bus. I gave it to the bus driver though. I got an excellent game for my pool. There are six oysters, five have white pearls, the other has a black pearl. The oysters sink so you can dive for them. The person with the black pearl wins or you make up rules. I got it on sale for 10% off. Theere were more expensive diving games like Rotten Egg or Gator Eggs but I saved money. Good for you! Where did you buy it? I’m looking for games for my pool.

Tuesday June 16

I got the game at the Ancaster Pool Shop. It’s right besie the plaza that contains Zehr’s. This shop has everything! Floatable toys and games like basketball! I go there quite often now. I am going to the Exhibition game tonight. The Ti Cats against the Argos. Ti Cats! Ti Cats!
