Tuesday September 2

I am eleven years old.  I have two sisters, a father and a mother.  I am not too good at math.  I am good at spelling.  I like sports.  I'm going to try to make the team this year for football.  I've been practicing.  I like golf too!  I like liabrary period and art.  I like gym too.  Most students do not like to much work, but I do!  I try hard at math but the results are not too good as I mentioned.  I really like religion.  And I like reading a lot.  My best friend is Sammy.  We play together a lot.  My sister Angela is in grade three.  My sister Bridget is in early childhood.  I have a cousin that comes to this school too.  His name is Jimmy.  he is in grade four next door.  I think.  My favourite reading material are novels.  I practically have a whole liabrary at home.  I like Gorden Korman books a lot.  As you can tell I really like writing.  I am not too good at penmenship though.  My favourite games are board games and roll playing games such as Dunegons and Dragons.  I have been attending Christ the King for six years now.  Welcome to grade six.  You sound very interesting.

Wednesday September 3

I have just been invited to Satchmo's birthday party!  But I can not make it.  I can not make it because I am going away for the long weekend.  The party is on the long weekend.  Oh well, I will still buy him something!  I'll have to decide soon.  I'll ask my mother to help me think about it.  I remembered to think about three things that are me.  They are, reading books, playing board games, and rooting for my favouite football team!  I really like all those things.  They are really me.  There are some others but I decided those ones were the best to use for whatever we will be doing.  I am moving...again!  I bet my family holds the world record for moving the most times.  I hope we stay at the next house!  Will you still be coming to this school?  I hope so!

Thursday September 4

Yes, I will still be coming to this school.  I am glad.  I really like this school.  Which reminds me of when I went to the Beach Boys concert at the Copps Colisiuem.  They played Be true to your school.  They had cheerleaders for that one.  I forget the school's name that they came from.  They formed a huge pyramid.  It was just great!  I hope they come back soon.  But I want to see Bill Cosby or the Monkees too!  I really like concerts.  So do I!

Friday September 5

In two days four people wanted to buy our house.  The all come over at once and then fought over it.  Then one family said "Oh yeah!  Well we will go right over the price suggested!  And they did.  We got more than we asked for!  I just can't wait to move.  Because in this house is an inground pool!  I can't wait to use it.  It even had a diving board!  We will move in about two and a half months!  Wow!

Tuesday September 9th

On Saturday Sammy and I went to Wonderland!  It all started when Sam asked me to sleep over Friday night.  That night Sammy's father said we were going to Wonderland the next day!  So we went.  When we got there we found so much to do it was great!  We ate and drank a lot too.  I just couldn't believe all the rides.  I loved going on them.  Today we a new student.  He can only speak Itialian.  It will be fun helping him learn English!  I hope we do a good job.  I am so excited about it.  Great!  I'm sure you'll enjoy helping Carmello!

Wednesday September 10th

From yesterday's experiences I find Carmello really friendly.  We play tag and hide-and-seek with him.  It is a lot of fun playing with him.  We did not have to teach him how to play either of these to Carmello.  I bet we will have a lot more fun with him today!  I sure hope so.  I forget where Carmello comes from though.  I know Italy, but not the city or town.  I want to know because I want to tell my parents.  I will have to ask him later on today.  I really like Carmello.  It is fun teaching english to him.  I am sorry he has to leave so soon.  Oh well.  I am sorry he has to know French too.  I bet he is really confused!  Carmello comes from Venezuela, not Italy.  His country is party of South America.

Thursday September 11th

Today looks like a drizzly day.  No sun, just fog, wind and occassionly showers, here and there.  On the top of all that it is unbearably hot.  It's looks like a really bad day.  Oh well.  I wish someone would invent a machine that could change the weather but that is impossible.  That's too bad.  It Ethiopa it could rain and it could stop tornadoes!  If there was such a machine, which there isn't.  I wonder if such a machine would have it's bad points too!  I doubt it.  Oops I forgot my book order today.  And it's the last day for them!  Oh well!  Oh well?

Friday September 12th

Today is the day I've been waiting for.  For more reason's than one.  Today I play hockey and we have gym, and tommorow's Saturday!  I sure hope my team wins this afternoon!  But it's having fun that counts.  The team's  name "G.I. JOKE", was Gene's idea.  Our team is the most popular, and we haven't even played yet!  Our team consists of Steven Soderbergh, Pikachu, Miss, and Gene.  And me.  I say we have as good a chance as the Blackhawks.  Which is the team we are going to play.  I hope we win!  Good luck!

Monday September 15

Sammy has a cast.  On acount of  Blocko's head.  Sammy hit Blocko on the head and broke Sammy's thumb.  It was Sammy's writing hand too!  He has a lot of things to get used to.  I feel sorry for Sammy.  I signed it yesterday.  It goes from his thumb to his elbow.  I wonder why it is so big when his thumb is so small!  I will ask him later.  At least he can do that!  Maybe he could use some help!

Tuesday September 16

Today I had a scare!  Gene was late.  that scared me because today we play floor hockey and Gene is our captain and best player.  He was late because he missed the bus and had to run with his two five year old sisters almost a mile!  And on top of all that his sisters forgoth their lunches making Gene run back to get them.  I hope we win that hockey game today!  I hope he's not too tired after all that running!

Wednesday September 17

I had the choice of changing schools because I'm moving.  Now I think I will.  I didn't have to but I will.  I have reasons that would not be polite (to certain people) to write or say.  But I'm almost certain I will change schools.  I am going to move in a month my parents said.  I can't wait.  There is an inground pool and I get my own bathroom and fireplace in my room!  I can not wait!  Sounds beautiful!  We'll miss you.

Thursday September 18

Today we play the Sabers.  It will will be a tight match!  We G.I. Joke have won two games.  But so did they.  We both have great teams.  But it might end tied.  We are going to have to trie hard.  But they will too!  We might win after all!  I have to have confidence.  So does the rest of the team though.  We may not "cream" them but we will probably win!  Play your best!

Friday September 19, 1986

We lost the game yesterday.  but we did play our best!  So we won in another way completely, In spirit!  But I wish we won the other way.  Oh well.  I don't care it doesn't really matter, we had fun anyway!  I hope we win the next games.  Well, we are in second place!  I hope we can make it to first place!  We still have a chance!  What a great attitude, Frank!

Monday September 22

I have just made a trade.  It is a great trade.  For me and Jerkbot.  Who is trading me!  I am giving two transformers for one G.I. Joe man!  I am glad I got this trade.  Spike is trading Transformers for a G.I. Joe man too!  He is also happy. Jerkbot is too.  So this is a perfect trade for all of us!  That's the main thing.  So no tradebacks will happen!  Good!

Tuesday September 23

Today we play the Blackhawks.  Thier team is a bad one.  They haven't won one game yet.!  But I shouldn't critisize like that!  Thier team consists of  Smallo, Jorge, Junior, and some others that I can't remember.  We have only won two games out of three.  But we are still doing good.  Congratulations.

Wednesday September 24

Yesterday we won the hockey game 5-2.  So we won three games out of four.  We have to beat the Sabres to be the champions.  We, "G.I. Joke," and the Sabres are tied in good, strong teams.  If we beat them the next time we have won.  But we still have to play the Islanders.  We aren't worried about them, because thier team isn't as good as ours.  Don't be too confident!

Thursday September 24

Today is a volley-ball practice at 12:30.  And I forgot my lunch!  When Sam used to forget his lunch He ran home and made it back in time!  So, since I live closer to school than he does, I will make it back too.  But I will never do this again.  It's true you learn from your mistakes!  How right you are!

Tuesday, September 30, 1986

On Saturday I went to "A Time for Children" at the CNE?  It was great fun!  There was a lot of exibits and shows.  Such as: Barbie, G.I. Joe, Skateboard shows, live music, and others were also a lot of free samples.  that was my favourite part!  Free chocolate, drinks, fried foods, chips and a lot more.  I got a humoungus backsack from there too!  Just what I have always needed!  I hope I go again next year.  It sounds like a great place to go!

Wednesday October 1

I know exactly what I am going to be this year for Halloween.  I am going to be a white ??? [illegible.  chess.]!  Isn't that a good idea?  I think it is!  I might win a prize!  I hope I do.  I know what a lot of other people are going to be too.  They have good ideas too.  They might beat me but I doubt it, I can't wait.  Can you?  I can't wait to see all the costumes.

Thursday October 2

Yesterday we went to the Animation Festival.  It was great fun.  I liked the three films too.  The other thing I liked was when the producer (and creator?) told us how each film was made.  It was very interesting!  I hope my family goes with me before it leaves town!  Maybe we will maybe we won't.  I am taking scuba lessons too!  I can't wait until the first lesson!  Where are you going to take the scuba lessons?

Friday October 3

Today there is a moon-eclispe.  I think this is the one you can look at and you will not be blinded!  I hope it is.  It will be great seeing such a sight.  The sun eclispe is not the one you should look at.  I always hear stories about people who saw it with the naked eye.  Of course, they were blinded!  but really why the fuss about the moon-eclispe?  I'll find out  soon I hope.  You won't be able to see the eclipse today because of the weather.

Monday October 6

Today the sun came out.  It is a sight for sore eyes.  But that's all it is.  It isn't giving any heat!  Oh well.  Maybe it will warm up.  But I honestly doubt it will warm up, though it might.  And that's a big might.  I am lucky I wore warm clothes today.  I'll need them!  You sure will!

Tuesday October 7

I was wrong about yesterday!  I am glad. But there is something we are doing more important!  My friends and I are holding a haunted house.  It will be really scary!  I can't wait to put it together.  It will be held in my garage.  It will be a barrel of laughs.  I can't wait to start!  Sounds exciting!

Wednesday October 8

Today is a drowsy day.  Oh well.  I feel drowsy with it too.  I hope I don't fall alseep.   That would be terrible!  But I doubt I will.  Falling asleep in school, what a tragedy.  The haunted house members are excited about making the house.  All proceeds go to charity.  We can't wait.  What charity will you be contributing to?

Today there is a volley-ball practice.  I  am glad I joined.  It is fun.  I am getting my sweater soon.  I can't wait!  I forgot to hand in my journal for the past two days.  Oh well.  And my picture illustrating a idiom, got picked to go to the reference section of our school liabrary.   I am proud.  You should be!

Friday October 10 1986

Today we challenge, the girls to a Red-Rover game.  Well we challenged them yesterday, today we win.  We have secret runs, so it gaurntees you'll break the chain!  Ha.  With our "plays" we're sure to win!  This game is in the "bag".  That's an idiom, "In the bag."  I like idioms, there fun.  So are you!

Tuesday October 14

Blocko and I are teaming up on Halloween.  I've changed my mind so many times but I've got a sold idea.   Blocko and I are going to be .... Laurel and Hardy.  We haven't decided who will be who but that doesn't matter.  We have felt bowlers and everything!  It will be great!  I can't wait to see you two!

Wednesday October 15

Today is a sunny, warm day. But I am worried about something.  I wonder if Blocko will let the secret of us being Laurel and Hardy out.  Probably not but I will feel better if I remind him.  I was sure I heard him telling Gene something.  It kind of sounded like a whisper, a secret.  I am worried I guess.  I hope I talk to him soon!  You can talk to him at recess!

Thursday, October 16

I've got two bowlers for my costume.  I have dark suits and all accessories.  It will be great!  I can't wait.  Today I go out to dinner with my mother's cousion all the way from Austria.  She told me interesting things!  We are taking her to the old country mill.  I can't wait for that either!  I hope you have a fantastic time!

Friday October 17

The power is off......again!  I don't know why we just don't go home.  Well anyway yesterday night was fantasic.  I never had a better time!  I just loved it.  The person Raizy (correct spelling I don't know) knit me some socks and everything.  She is going back soon.  Oh well.  I will miss her.  I'm really glad you enjoyed yourself.  I hope your next visit is just as great.

Monday October 20

Tomorrow is going to be terrible!  I am going to the ........ dentist.  I hate going there.  I'm not scared.  I just hate when my face gets sucked up by the vaccum and the horrible floride!  Yuch!  Oh well, no way out this time!  I will have to go!  It's better than having rotten teeth or no teeth!

Tuesday October 21

Today I forgot my decorations.  I didn't know!  Well, I will have to bring them tomorrow!  Maybe I will be able to bring them today!  Because I am going to the dentist at lunch so I may be able to pick it up from my grandparents.  They have it!  Because both of them brought it to work!  I hope they didn't forget to bring it!  They probably brought but I am still worried!  Tomorrow will be fine.

Wednesday October 22

I am great at math this year!  I wasn't nearly as good last year though!  So I don't know why I'm so good this year!  I have passed all this year's tests in the 80's!  All math tests anyway.  But my other tests I have passed with flying colours too!  I am proud!  You should be-I hope you keep it up!

Thursday October 23

Today there is a volley-ball practice.  but more important there is floor hockey play-offs.  Our team the Gi-Jokes must beat the Islanders!  I think we can win this game.  It is an important one!  I hope we win!  But it doesn't matter we made it this far.  We have a chance.  If we win the championship is in the bag.  The blackhawks are after the Islanders.  The Blackhawk's aren't to good either.  We can do it.  I hope you do!

Monday October 27 '86

Today is the day I shout!  Because yesterday the Tiger-Cats won.  I was there to see it all.  The Tiger-cats clobbered the Argo's 23 to 10!  It was a very exciting game.  On part of the game the Argo's were on the 1 yard line.  They only needed to go one yard and touch-down is theres.  But no! Our defense players pushed the Argo's back, back, back!  It was our money's worth.  My dad took me.  A lot of the guys in this class went too.  We all loved it.  The Tiger-cats are in 1st place now.  Great!

Tuesday October 28 '86

Today there is a volley-ball game here at Christ the King at 5:30.  I really like to play volley-ball.  It is a very fun sport.  I am glad I joined.  And tommorow is Pig Day! [Pretty Important Guy/Gal.  chess.]  I wonder what we will do.

Thursday October 30

Yesterday was a very fun day!  We had Pig day.  It was great!  We had movies, activities and general fun!  I hope Pig day comes back soon.  Yesterday night we lost our volley-ball game.  We have won one out of three games.  Not the best way to start off a season!  We have to work on serving a lot!

Monday November 3

I did pretty good on Halloween.  In fact I did great.  Blocko and Spike and I all went together.  We had a really fun time.  Usually I don't care about the candy.  But this time I did!  On Dundurn, there was a haunted house and a talking pumpkin family!  It was really great.  I loved it.  Next year I doubt I will dress up.  But maybe.  I know I won't go trick-or-treating!  But I might come to school dressed up.  I love Halloween!  You can tell!!!

Tuesday November 4

It is a pretty cold week.  In fact it is supposed to .... snow!  I can wait for that!  But I like snow too because Sam and I love going to Tom Park to go sledding.  It is getting warmer throughout the day though.  I`m glad.  Aren`t you?

Wednesday November 5

Blocko has two boxing puppets.  They move by means of levers hidden in the cloaking.  Blocko has an old man and a young one.  I think I might by one for five bucks a piece.  I really like them.  I probably will buy one.  On our Envirenmental Studies my group got a seven. 

Thursday Novemmber 6

Today we have a  sustitute teacher on accound of Mrs. Belisario falling and hurting her arm.  I wonder how long she will be away.  I hope it's not long!  I really like Mrs. Belisario as our teacher.  But sometimes it's interesting to have a substitute.  I hope things work out!  Why shouldn't they?  If you co-operate, I co-operate.  Mrs. Belisario should be back Monday.

Friday November 7

Today is Sammy's birthday party it is going to be a sleep-over!  I can't wait!  The party starts at seven o'clock this evening.  I can't wait to go!  I love parties.

Monday November 10 /86

Our play about St. Francis of Assisi is really a good one.  We have good props, costumes and lines for us to say!  We have two parts each!  "We" is Gene, Spike, and me Frank.  I play St. Francis of course and a jealous king who wants to kill St. Francis.  Spike plays a brother and Clare.  Gene has an extra part.  He plays...a brother, a knight and a lepor!   I like this idea of putting on plays.  I can't wait until we show them to the others.  I can't wait to see thier plays!  It will be fun tomorrow!  Not tomorrow-Weds. remember?  I'm happy that you're enjoying setting up the playlet.

Tuesday November 11

Today is rememberance day.  I like only part about!  I have nobody to remember.  My grandfather went into World War II and survived!  I am glad.  Gene in this class wasn't as lucky!  His grandfather never made it out of World War II.  I feel sorry for Gene oh well!  To bad!  I hope there is no World war III.  Yes!  We all hope the same.  It is a time when we can think about those who fought and died for our freedom.

Wednesday November 12

Spike is sick and we have plays to do today.  Gene and I think maybe we can do it but it won't be as affective.  I think we shouldn't.  Because it won't be good.  I will wait.  Good idea!

Thursday November 13

Today I ref a hockey game.  It's this morning.  I was picked to referee games not too long ago.  I think it was the 10th of November.  I'm not sure.  I really like this job.  It's great fun blowing the whistle at goals and change-ups.  I'm really glad I was picked.  I hope you are fair-I'm glad that you're enjoying it.

Monday November 19

A couple of days ago I moved into my new house.  It's a super house!  It has everything!  Laundry chute, inground pool, trash compactor, fire place, central air, and much, much more.  I really enjoy this house!  Of course we have to redecorate but who doesn't?  My favourite thing besides the pool is the heat lamp over the bath tub!  I hope we don't move from this house!  Sounds like quite a house.  I'm glad that you're happy in it.

Wednesday Nov 19 86

Today Spike forgot something he promised to bring.  It doesn't matter though.  (I guess).  It's called the Hawk.  It's a G.I. Joe vehicle.  It flies.  It can go straight up or just straight forward.  I really like it a lot.

Friday Nov. 21

On Saturday Gene, Mason and I are going to Princess Point to go tobbagning!  I really can't wait.  I will fill my thermos with hot chockolate and I hope everything will go o.k..  I don't know why they shouldn't!  I can't wait.  Today we have a Spelling Bee.  I am one of the best spellers in the class.  But Manon ties me.  I sure hope I am a captain.  So I can pick one of the best teams.  I have a mental list of my team.  But if I'm not a captain that will start a problem.  I sure hope I am one. And on my winder booklet I got an A+.  I'm so proud.  You should be!

Monday Nov. 24

Today is Monday.  Yuck.  I hate Mondays.  But who doesn't.  I don't know what it is about Mondays but I know I will feel a whole lot better when this day is over.  It is almost report card time I sure can't wait!  Why?

Tuesday Nov. 26 '86.

I got moved once.  From where I got moved I moved again.  A lot of moving!  I just wish I stayed where I was in the first place.  It would be so much easier!  Report cards are coming!  I can't wait!

Wednesday Nov. 27 '86

Yesterday I got my report card!  I got a doozy!  I got twenty-five "A"'s and the rest "B"s!  I am proud that I am doing so well.  My mother told me about my handwriting.  I will change.  Good!  When?

Friday November 28

Yesterday I got 50 out of 50 on my spelling test.  Mr. Bernacki wrote "Bingo"! by my mark.  People who got 49 out of 50 had..."Close but no cigar"! by the mark.  I really enjoy Mr. Bernacki.  He'll be glad to hear it!  He is a good principal to have.

Tuesday December 2 '86

What a win for the Tiger-cats.  The Gray Cup is ours again!  The Cats beat the Eskimos 39-15.  What a win.  Soon there is a parade.  I can't wait.  My father met Coach Al Bruno!  I was sorry I wasn't there! Oh well.  Next time.  Let's hope there is a next time!

Wednesday December 3 '86

Oh no!  On Monday I was away.  And I forgot that every Monday spelling is assigned.  Now I only have one night to complete the whole lesson!  I sure have my work cut out for me.  I will have to remember things.  You can do it!

Thursday December 4 1986

I finished my spelling.  It was easier than I thought it would be.  It was fun actually.  There is twenty-one days until the holiday of Christmas.  I can't wait until Christmas arrives.  I guess twenty-one days is not a [unfinished.  chess.]

I just came back yesterday and I ahve a lot of work to catch up on.  Oh well. I have to catch up on events too.  What the "gang" has been up too, etc.  I hope today's a good day.

Friday December 12 '86

Yesterday St. Mary's band came.  It was pretty good.  They played carols, Canadian and American, and they played teleivsion show themes.  We are going to cut down our tree on Sunday.  I can't wait.

Monday December 15

Yesterday my family cut down a tree.  It was fun.  It was tradional.  We usualy cut down our tree.  First we searched.  Then we found a good one. We had to beat another family though.  But we got it.  We cut it down and got scraps for our wreath.  I love Christmas.  Me too!

Tuesday December 16

Spike, Gene, Sammy, Blocko and I are doing something for the assembly.  I am not going to say what it is until I have to.  But we might not even have it.  Because of time.  Maybe we'll do it for the next assembly.  Have you been practising?

Wednesday December 17

The Christmas holidays are almost going to begin.  I can't wait.  I can't wait for Christmas either.  I love this season a lot.  Christmas, Christmas!  Only eight more days!
