Entrance to Central Park at Columbus Circle Columbus Circle.  Note the white building in the background.  It was built without windows during the Cold War.  The design was meant to lessen the amount of flying glass after a nuclear strike.

The Verrazano Narrows Bridge connects Staten Island to Brooklyn.  When it opened it was the world's longest suspension bridge.  Today there is only one longer bridge.  It's even a double decker bridge!  The toll was like $7.50!
