2005-05-29T09:56  Way behind in my posting.  Busy, busy.  Let's play a little catch up:  BBC is reporting that a couple of Japanese soldiers have been found in the jungles of the Philippines, left there since the end of WWII.

2005-05-24T06:30  Supremely hackable.  Especially when the Post Office doesn't bother to fill the bloody thing out and they ask the receiver to return the entire item for inspection.  No one's going to do that.

2005-05-24T06:29  Picked up the sweetest plum the other day.  A 'Cube to USB converter.  Works like a charm.  Now I can use my 'Cube controller to play PC games.  Rock.

2005-05-21T07:55  Das Keyboard ships with blank keys.  "For Uber Geeks Only."  Seems kind of nouveau-geek to me.  Real geeks kick it old school.

2005-05-21T07:53  Seems that Trump and I have the same vision for the redevelopment of the WTC.  I thought the Freedom Tower was a done deal but now that Trump is mouthing off about it, maybe there's a chance that monstrosity won't be built.

2005-05-16T06:47  Okay.  Last David Chappelle post I promise.  Turns out, he's not missing, he's not in a psych hospital, he's not on drugs, and he's not crazy.   He's just chillin' at his beach house figuring things out.

2005-05-16T06:45  Did I mention that 2600 printed my article How to Get Out of Google?  I did?  Oh.

2005-05-16T06:37  The Organic Trade Association presents...Grocery Store Wars.  "Help me Obi Wan Cannoli.  You're my only hope."  Adverganda but pretty funny.

2005-05-13T17:31  Some people read 2600.  Some people write for 2600.  I can check both boxes because  2600, the Hacker's Quarterly, printed my article How to Get Out of Google.   International News here in town has a few copies of the Spring 2005 issue for sale.  Pick it up and maybe you'll learn something.  They even printed my shout out to the Boneware Crew!

2005-05-11T06:50  There are loads of PDF Reader alternatives out there but my money's behind Foxit PDF Reader.  It's a small, blazingly fast replacement for Adobe's Reader.  No more waiting for everything to initialize or having your browser lock up while you load a PDF.  Do yourself a favor and switch.

2005-05-11T06:46  Mirror of the world's first website.  Pretty boring even for me.

2005-05-08T16:46  The most fun I've had with my new notebook so far is searching for WiFi networks.  In my dad's building I found 4 on 2 different scans.  Two were unsecured and two were locked down.  I'd love to pick up a keyfob WiFi finder.  I'd love a mini finder that ran Netstumber.  That'd rule.

2005-05-05T19:34  So I jumped right in a bought a sweet new laptop.  I've had it since Monday.  Just setting it up and what not.  It's a Windows machine.  There's no way I could afford the same configuration from Apple.  512MB RAM, 60GB HD, DVDRW + CDRW, 6-in-1 media card reader, Wifi, 14inch Widescreen display, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Firewire port, Centrino processor, and it's under 5lbs and around an inch thick.  It really is a sweet little machine.  The nice thing was how easy it was to add to my network and print to attached printers.  Real nice.  Dang, I even got a Windows install disc.  Will wonders never cease?
