2004-12-31T10:37  Ruby in a green sweater.

2004-12-31T10:02.  How big is my blog?

Indonesian holiday pics courtesy GIS.

2004-12-30T16:07  Indonesia is in trouble?  Quick!  Where's my chequebook?  Now the NY Times is calling the US contribution "miserly."  Personally, I wouldn't flip 'em a nickel.  Remember the Bali bombing?

2004-12-30T09:39  Archived a bunch of junk again.  The main page was over 100k.

2004-12-30T09:23  lol.  Ruby loves her new green sweater!

2004-12-29T10:24  Pedro how do you feel about that one?  It looks pretty sweet.  That looks awesome.  That suit it's, it's incredible.

2004-12-29T10:19  More Cuecat-generated content:  My chess library.

2004-12-29T07:56  9-0.  I expected that from the Germans.  But 8-1 on the Swedes?  lmao!  That's the funniest thing I ever heard.  Funnier than Bryan McCabe getting cut by the cowardly Swedes.  lol.

2004-12-28T23:42  If you need proof that the US gets a raw deal from the rest of the world read this article about how some UN goof suggested that the USA was being "stingy" in its provision of aid to the Tsunami victims.  So the US is ponying up 1 BILLION dollars and that isn't good enough?   Why don't Asian countries foot the bill?  Where is France on this?  <sarcasm>Maybe they're all aided out after sending aid to the US after the devasting hurricanes of 2004.</sarcasm>  Why is the US expected to give anything in a case like this?  After all the flak the US takes in a year I'd give Indonesia a nice big horse laugh.  Especially seeing as how the populace of Indonesia is decidedly anti-US and harbors more terrorists per capita than any other country.  Get lost you clowns.  Fortunately for them though the US is too classy to not send all the food and money they can spare.

2004-12-27T21:39  A while back I posted about my Cuecat.  What I didn't realize was that the idea behind using a Cuecat as a password generator was to use an unmodified Cuecat to scan a UPC with.  Unmodded 'cats append a unique identifier string to the end of each UPC that is scanned.  That way, even if an attacker knew which UPC you were using as a password, he'd need physical access to your 'cat to make it work.  The downside being that if you lost or damaged your 'cat you wouldn't be able to use the password yourself.  My Cuecat is modded so it works just like a regular barcode scanner.  But Cuecats have more uses than that.  Look what I did with Readerware and a Cuecat.  The page itself was generated by Readerware.  I just FTP'd it to my server.  Pretty cool.  I want to scan my books and CDs next.

A Christmas card from Peter.

2004-12-25T09:27  Merry Christmas!

2004-12-24T19:45  From the Inside Joke Department:  NORAD is tracking Santa for the evening in realtime.  What were the odds he'd be in the Azores exactly when I check?  lmao.  AZORES!

Krampus:  Always causing trouble.

2004-12-24T13:00  Merry Christmas from Krampus and chessthecat.com.

2004-12-20T21:22  My last name is Coruzzi.  Whenever I see another name ending in "uzzi" I take notice.  Check out my collection so far:

    * Natuzzi.  Furniture company
    * Jacuzzi.  Hot tubs
    * Bertuzzi.  Canuck
    * Andruzzi.  Patriot
    * Abruzzi.  Region of Italy where the "uzzi" was born.

Anyone know any others?

2004-12-21T21:51  Didn't get to post a pic of this before.  Check out what I picked up at the local thrift shop:  a genuine Radio Shack TRS-80!  It's only an MC-10 but still.  4K of RAM!  Come on!  It even came with the original box and it boots!  lol.

2004-12-14T19:23  What was your favorite Magic: The Gathering card?

Played for the love of the game.

2004-12-14T18:53  So the NHL did the right thing today and rejected the NHLPA's half-assed proposal.  I'm still with the owners on this one:  there has to be a cap in place.  The players put their stock in a marketplace system not realizing the simple and obvious fact that the NHL isn't a marketplace at all.  NHL teams compete for the Cup; not for profits.  This is hockey, not Monopoly.  All 30 teams need to work together, not compete with each other for the highest payroll.  That's what's happening today and that's why teams like Edmonton, Calgary, and Ottawa are in such rough shape financially.  Anyone remember the Nords and Jets?  Let's get real Sundin!  Sleeping on your mattress stuffed with US greenbacks for playing a kid's game.  Personally, I'd be fine with the league telling the NHLPA to take a hike and then put Help Wanted ads in the papers.  It's only the teams that matter anyway; not the players.  Superstars are only a recent invention of the agents' imagination.  Back in the early days of the NHL players were regular Joes with regular jobs and the on-ice product was better than it is today.  If I had my way, you could only be on a team if you were born in that team's home city.  Imagine:  New Yorkers versus Beantowners.   It used to be that way.  Bringing in high-priced imports proves nothing.  They're ringers today.  That's all.

2004-12-12T09:37

2004-12-11T09:30   Here's a picture I took of my computer desk with the lights off.  There are LEDs visible for the cable modem (4), router (4), keyboard (1), KVM switch (1), surge protector (3), and my desktop (2).  Not in the picture are LEDs for the printer (2), server (1), Utah (2), speakers (1), monitor (1), USB hub (2).  So at any given time I'm bathed in the light of 25-30 LEDs.  It's what gives my skin its healthy glow.

2004-12-11T09:25   lol!  Poor little thing.

2004-12-07T22:31  A day which will live in infamy.

2004-12-06T22:42   2000 e-mails and 64MB of storage used so far.  I don't know how I used to get by on Hotmail's 2MB.  lol.

2004-12-06T22:17  Since Freeze is now on broadband, the Trifecta is complete and I don't care how big my pages are anymore.  Not that I ever did.

2004-12-06T20:31  Utah is now online.

2004-12-06T20:22  Well I picked up a battery and my clunky camera decided to co-operate.  Found a couple of pics of our garden I forgot about on there:

Working hard or hardly working?

2004-12-05T22:19  So much stuff to report but no time to actually sit down and do it.  I found a job for one.  It's a temporary position but it's down at Public Works as an Environmental Control Clerk.  Anyway,  I'm going to have to set some time aside tomorrow night or later this week and update the old page.  I miss chessthecat.com.  Hopefully I can pick up a battery for my digital camera tomorrow; then you'll really see some fun.
