All About Chess.  I can't hear you.

Seven years old twenty years ago and I live in Canada but I'm an American in spirit.  I've often said I was born 50 miles short of the border.  I'm a big goof off and dropped out of University with a quarter credit.  I'm starting College this year though studying Graphic Arts. I'm engaged to be married to Starsmars.  (Click here for a gallery.) June 21, 2003.  Then off to Japan for a honeymoon?

Music

I used to work in a record store and I love music but not as much as I once did.  I used to buy CDs left and right, sometimes selling stuff just to get my fix.  I haven't bought a CD other than a Garbage CD in like, 2 years.  Recently, I'm loving the White Stripes, and the Vines but I just want to spend money on DVDs or computer games now.  I absolutely love punk covers of pop songs.  I also love the pipes and military music.  Is there anyone alive who doesn't like the song "American Music" by the Violent Femmes?

Garbage is my all-time favorite band.   I have 129 Garbage CDs alone including bootlegs, singles, imports, and autographed doubles.  Vow is my favorite Garbage song.

Film

Jackie Chan is my favorite movie star.  Every  time I see a Jackie Chan movie I record the date and title in a little log.  I'm up to 21 movies and my favorites are Drunken Master I and II, The Big Brawl, and Project A.  I love Wes Anderson  and any movie with Jack Lemmon in it that was made before 1980.  Any movie starring John Cusack is fine by me.  Same with Harrison Ford, Lee Marvin, George Peppard, Steve McQueen, Peter Sellers, Jason Lee, Edward Norton.  What?  No, I'm not gay.  Oh and the Marx Brothers.  They fuckin' OWN!

Some of my favorite movies are Amelie, American Movie, The Apartment, Band of Brothers, Being There, Bottle Rocket,  Breakfast at Tiffany's or anything with Audrey Hepburn, Casablanca, Chasing Amy, Clerks, Dark Days, The Dirty Dozen, Dr. Strangelove, Failsafe, The Fortune Cookie, Ghost World,  The Great Escape, Lawrence of Arabia, The Longest Day, The Magnificent Seven, Metropolis (anime), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Not One Less, Oceans 11 (1960), Oklahoma (gotta be top 3), One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest, The Party, Pi, Run Lola Run, Rushmore, Salesman, Saving Private Ryan, The Seven Year Itch, Some Like it Hot, Singing in the Rain, Sound of Music, Star Wars episodes IV and V, This is Spinal Tap, and West Side Story among so many others.

Other things I love

America, American history, American culture, Republicans,  New York City, the Yankees, the character of Will Parker from Oklahoma, reading about World War II, especially D-Day and the Battle of Britain.  I also love Japan and its culture.  Here's hoping for a June honeymoon to the land of the rising sun. I love Anime and comic books.  Punisher in particular.  Anything from the 80s will always get my attention:  Mr. T, NES, the A-Team, any and all cheesy synth rock, GI Joe, the Transformers.  Anything like that.   I love chess and my favorite players are Alekhine, Fischer, Petrosian and Tal.  My current CFC rating is 1593 down from my high of 1603.  I'm on hiatus right now.  I love video games.  I'm a huge Nintendo fan starting with the SNES.  Back in the NES days I was still with the Atari 2600.  I can't stand X-Box.  Or any MS product really.  I'm basically forced to use Windows and shit like that but I don't have to buy an X-Box thank God.  I play a lot of PC games too.   I love RTS games like Civ and I love FPSs.  I'll prolly never play a better game than Medal of Honor:  Allied Assault.

Pet Peeves

I don't like the French.  I'm sorry but how can anyone like a country full of WWII collaborators?  And after everything that Britain and America has done for them they act like it was nothing.  Hello?  They liberated your shitty country TWICE!!  The only good thing that the French ever did was give the Statue of Liberty to the USA.  But is that really worth D-Day?  Gimme a break.  And Quebecers.  Ugh.  They resisted both Canadian drafts claiming that WWI and WWII were British wars.  How the fuck is fighting to free France a British war?  You stupid fuckers.  I feel so strongly about this that if you're from France or Quebec and you're reading this please leave my page right now.   The Scots are the greatest.  My wish is that I was born Scottish and living in America.  Aight.

Odd facts about me

I save all those little stickers that come on fruit and stick them to the frig.  I have 41 different ones so far. I don't stick doubles up.  I went to Catholic school all my life.  The grade school I went to was filled with Portuguese kids.  To this day I curse in Portuguese.  Ekerai!  I have 2 complete sets of Pro Set's Desert Storm cards.  I served for a very short while in the Royal Canadian Artillery.  I applied to the Marine Corps but couldn't get my papers in order.  Unless there's a draft INS won't accept the military as a sponsor.  The recruiter told me to go to Buffalo and marry an ugly girl which offended me a little.  Couldn't I get a pretty girl?  Meh.  My dream is to one day be protected by the US Constitution.  Did you know that Canada doesn't have an equivalent to the Fifth Amendment?  Or that property rights are not entrenched in our constitution?  Or that Quebec never signed it?  Or that THE DAMN THING MEANS NOTHING BECAUSE THE NOTWITHSTANDING CLAUSE CANCELS IT ALL OUT!!
